Welcome to neko. The Service is provided and operated by the service operator (the "Operator"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy is informed by global privacy standards, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

We collect your email address and optional profile details when you create an account. When you use the incentive shop, we may also collect recipient name, recipient phone number, and delivery message details required to issue and send a coupon. We use secure authentication to protect access. This data is processed to fulfill our contract with you and maintain account and fulfillment functionality.

Chat Data

We store your AI chat interactions (messages, timestamps, character context) to enable seamless conversation continuity. You may request deletion at any time. This data is processed based on our legitimate interest in providing personalized services.

Usage Information

We track how you use neko (e.g., visited pages, time spent, features accessed) to improve functionality and user experience. This data is collected under our legitimate interest in service improvement.

Your prompts, conversations, and other input content may be transmitted to and processed by third-party model providers, including providers located outside your country, to generate AI responses and provide related features. Such processing may be subject to each provider's terms and privacy policy. Please avoid including personal data or sensitive information.
We do not use your content to train our own models. However, some third-party model providers or related providers used to generate AI responses may process your prompts and conversations for service improvement, quality enhancement, or model training purposes in accordance with their policies. Account identifiers are managed separately from chat data and are not transmitted to AI providers. Only chat data necessary to generate responses, such as character prompts and conversation content, may be transmitted to AI providers, so you should avoid including personal data or sensitive information in chats. If we later use your content for our own model training, we will provide prior notice and obtain consent, apply de-identification/pseudonymization, and offer an opt-out.

5. Content Ownership & Use

You retain ownership of your characters and messages. By using neko, you grant the Operator and its service providers (including third-party AI/infrastructure) a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to operate, maintain, and enhance the Service. We will not publicly share your content without your explicit consent. We do not use your content to train our own models. However, some third-party model providers or related providers used to generate AI responses may process your prompts and conversations for service improvement, quality enhancement, or model training purposes in accordance with their policies. Account identifiers are managed separately from chat data and are not transmitted to AI providers. Only chat data necessary to generate responses, such as character prompts and conversation content, may be transmitted to AI providers.

6. Third-Party Services

neko uses select third-party services to operate core features. These services may process limited data to provide specific functionality:

Google – used solely for user authentication. We do not share personal data with Google beyond what is necessary for sign-in.
Resend – used to send account-related emails such as verification or notifications. Email addresses are processed only for message delivery.
AI model providers and routing intermediaries – used to process your character prompts and chat messages to generate AI responses. Through routing intermediaries such as OpenRouter, your content may be routed to multiple model providers, including providers located outside your country, and the specific providers may change from time to time as part of service operations. Account identifiers are managed separately from chat data and are not transmitted to AI providers. Only chat data necessary to generate responses, such as character prompts and conversation content, may be transmitted to AI providers, so users are advised not to include personal data or sensitive information in chats. Detailed handling follows the 'Use of Your Information' and 'Content Ownership & Use' sections.
Toss Payments – used to securely process payments. When you make a purchase, your order details, payment amount, and basic user identifier may be shared with Toss Payments to complete the transaction.
Giftishow Biz (KT Alpha Co., Ltd.) – used to fulfill incentive-shop coupon delivery. Recipient name, recipient phone number, delivery message, and order identifiers may be shared only to the extent necessary to issue and send MMS-based coupons.

No personal data is shared with third-party services beyond what is required to provide the neko experience.

We process your personal data based on your consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, or our legitimate interests, where applicable. You may exercise these rights by emailing zombcat@nekochat.xyz, and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy. You may delete your account at any time; upon deletion or termination, data is removed from live systems and backups roll off on a periodic schedule. Payment and accounting records required by law are retained for the mandated period and deleted afterward. Derived or de-identified data (e.g., logs, statistics) may not be retrievable.
